The FireBerg Has Landed: Streamline’s Turbulence Is Built Different

Streamline Turbulence Overview

The newest release from Streamline Discs has landed— introducing the Neutron Turbulence, a unique fairway driver that’s perhaps the strangest disc that MVP has ever made.

We are affectionately referring to this as the "FireBerg" because it feels like someone mashed together the Firebird's overstable flight and fairway driver speed with the thumb track, negative flight plate, and point-and-shoot control of a Berg. It’s weird, but it's awesome.

Whether you’re battling wind, running aces (while still hoping to birdie), or looking for a reliable approach disc with a premium feel, the Streamline Turbulence delivers.

The Turbulence is a brand-new mold from Streamline Discs, crafted in premium Neutron plastic and designed with a concave, glide-reducing profile that makes it stand out immediately. It’s billed as a fairway driver, but many players will reach for it on approach-style shots too.

Here’s what makes it unique:

  • Speed: 7

  • Glide: Very Low (2)

  • Stability: Overstable (0 Turn, 3.5 Fade)

  • Feel: Concave top and thumb track on a fairway driver rim

The negative flight plate means it doesn’t carry too far, even on a full rip. It wants to hyzer, wants to fight the wind, and wants to drop predictably—not float. Think: overstable control without the skip, overstability without the overshoot.

Take the torque resistance and fade of a Firebird, then give it the ground-hugging, dumpy flight of a Berg, and you’ve got something pretty close to the Turbulence.

This disc shines when:

  • You need an overstable forehand that doesn’t go long

  • You’re fighting wind on short-to-mid tee shots

  • You want an approach disc that holds up to power

  • You want to guarantee a hyzer finish

  • You love Firebirds but sometimes want something that sits instead of skips

It’s also one of the most comfortable forehand discs we've tested in a while. Thumb tracks can be polarizing, but we love the smooth round edges and compact hand feel, and it's made my (Nick's) bag.

If you throw:

…this is a disc you should test. It can cover multiple of those slots and fits well in the "in between" zone when you don't want to give a full pump on an approach disc but a fairway driver feels like it might be too much.

Advanced players will appreciate the power-handling and ground play control, while intermediate players will find it useful for reliable fades and safe upshots. Beginners might find it beefy and hard to throw far—but that’s the point. It’s here to get to the ground and stay there.

If your game could benefit from a reliably overstable fairway that doesn’t glide past the target, the Neutron Turbulence is going to feel like a cheat code. It’s consistent. It’s unique. And it fills a slot that few discs can replicate.

Now available in limited quantities with a beautiful first-run stamp and a special Armory Disc Golf custom look, the Streamline Turbulence is a must-try for anyone building out their control disc lineup.
