Discraft Jawbreaker Z FLX Heat 9 | 6 | -3 | 1

The Jawbreaker Z FLX Heat is a 2026 Ledgestone edition of Discraft's easiest-throwing fairway driver. It glides forever, turns over gently, and gives newer players real distance without having to throw it as hard. This run is in Jawbreaker Z FLX plastic, which is flexible and grippy. Flight Numbers

At 9 | 6 | -3 | 1, the Heat is one of the most understable fairway drivers Discraft makes. The 9 speed gives it real distance, but the small rim keeps it easy to throw. The 6 glide is about as high as it gets, so it stays in the air a long time. The -3 turn lets it drift right on a flat throw (for right-handed backhand), and the 1 fade gives it a gentle finish instead of dumping out.

Speed Glide Turn Fade
9 6 -3 1

The Heat delivers:

  • Easy Distance: Newer players get a long, straight flight without having to throw it as hard as a distance driver.
  • Huge Glide: The 6 glide carries it a long way, especially with a tailwind.
  • Gentle Turnover: On a hard, flat throw it turns over and holds that line, then finishes softly.

It excels at:

  • Hyzer flips that stand up and fly straight
  • Long turnovers and rollers for players with more power
  • Max distance for newer players and slower arm speeds

The Jawbreaker Z FLX Plastic Advantage

Jawbreaker Z FLX blends the durability of Z Line plastic with the grip of Jawbreaker. It's flexible, so it bends a little in the hand and on impact, and it stays soft in cold weather. It grips great and tends to sit down when it lands instead of skipping far.

How the Heat Fits in the Discraft Lineup

  • Vs the Discraft Big Z Heat: Same mold and flight numbers. Pearly, durable plastic with the big Heat stamp. A little grippier than Z Line.
  • Vs the Discraft Mega Glo Heat: Same mold and flight numbers in bright glow plastic, made for night rounds.
  • Vs the Discraft Hannah Huynh Tour Series Heat: Hannah Huynh's 2026 Tour Series in a special Titanium and Big Z blend.
  • Vs the Discraft Z Line Heat: Same mold and flight numbers. Firm, translucent and the most durable. It holds its flight the longest.
  • Vs the Discraft Z Line Avenger SS: The Avenger SS (10 | 5 | -3 | 1) is faster with a wider rim and a little less glide. It's the next step up for more distance once you have the power.
  • Vs the Discraft Big Z Undertaker: The Undertaker (9 | 5 | -1 | 2) is the same speed but more stable. It flies straighter and fades more, so it's the pick when the Heat turns over too much.
  • Vs the Innova Sidewinder: The Sidewinder (9 | 5 | -3 | 1) is another 9 speed understable driver. The Heat has a bit more glide and a smaller rim, so it's easier to throw for most players.

Frequently Asked Questions About the Discraft Heat

How does the Discraft Jawbreaker Z FLX Heat feel in the hand?

The Heat is 21.1 cm across and 2.1 cm tall with a 1.2 cm rim depth and a 1.9 cm wide rim. That's a small rim for a 9 speed, so it's comfortable in smaller hands and easy to grip. It has a fairly domed top, which helps it glide. Jawbreaker Z FLX plastic is flexible and grippy, so it feels soft and secure in the hand.

How does the Discraft Jawbreaker Z FLX Heat handle wind and power?

Not well. The -3 turn and 6 glide mean headwinds will flip it over and lift it up. It's at its best in calm air or with a tailwind, where that glide carries it a long way. Grab something more stable when you're throwing into the wind.

Does the Discraft Jawbreaker Z FLX Heat break in over time?

Slowly. Z FLX is durable, so it holds its flight for a long time, though it starts out a little softer than Z Line. Over many rounds it gets a touch more understable.
