Release Date for Gyropalooza 2024 Box?
GET NOTIFIED WHEN GYROPALOOZA 2024 GOES LIVE
MVP hasn't announced an official release date for the Gyropalooza 2024 box yet, but we'll be updating you here as soon as they do. Based on previous years and what they've been teasing on social media, we're expecting the big reveal in the last couple weeks of October and the official release date towards the end of November.
What's in the Gyropalooza 2024 Box?
(This year's box has since been revealed- check it out here!)
MVP keeps the exact contents of the Gyropalooza mystery box under wraps until the official announcement, but based on Gyropalooza releases in the past we know we can expect:
- New releases of fan favorite molds in plastics that have never been run in that mold before (such as the Eclipse Glitch from 2023)
- A few Lab Second discs (factory seconds with minor cosmetic defects that still fly great). MVP has been putting more and more in these boxes over the last few years, so we're expecting 3-5 of them this year
- A brand new mold from MVP. Last year the James Conrad Detour was in the Gryopalooza box and the Simon Line Time Lapse was released alongside the Gyropalooza mystery boxes, so we expect to see something we've never seen before for Gyropalooza 2024. Our prediction is that we'll see a brand new Simon Line mold, though that hasn't been confirmed by MVP.
- Great custom artwork. Gyropalooza always features custom stamps from some of the best disc golf artists in the game, and one of the things fans love are the beautiful creations that come out for Gyropalooza year after year. In addition to what MVP has, we'll also be offering a custom stamp of our own on some fan favorites and new releases!
Recap of Gyropalooza 2023
Gyropalooza 2023 set a high bar, featuring a lineup of new molds, plastics, and stunning custom artwork. Highlights included:
-
Special Edition Discs: Last year, MVP released exclusive Gyropalooza versions of fan-favorite molds, including 3 R2 Neutron discs (Envy, Hex, and Crave), the first run of Eclipse Glitch, and the world premiere of the James Conrad Detour. These discs not only performed beautifully but also featured custom stamps and colorways that made them collectible.
-
Mystery Box Madness: Gyropalooza is known for its mystery boxes, packed with a variety of limited-edition discs and factory second combinations. In 2023, the mystery box was a massive hit, featuring the aforementioned special release alongside 4 Lab Seconds and 2 MVP Pro Shop discs (including artist series and special edition Team MVP discs)
-
New Mold Debuts: 2023 also saw the debut of the Simon Line Time Lapse—MVP's first release of a disc in Simon Lizottte's custom line and their first ever 12 speed distance driver. It was a great example of MVP’s continued innovation and was one of the hottest discs of 2024!
What to Expect for Gyropalooza 2024
(This year's box has since been revealed- check it out here!)
Here’s what we expect for MVP's Gyropalooza 2024 based on last year’s trends:
1. Mystery Boxes
MVP’s mystery boxes are always a fan favorite, and 2024 will likely feature another batch full of surprises. Based on trends throughout the years, we expect for MVP to include a handful of Lab Second discs (which may feature slight cosmetic defects but still fly incredible) alongside some never-before-seen artwork and probably a new plastic/mold or two. These boxes provide immense value for collectors and players alike and we believe they're the best deal in disc golf!
2. Exclusive Discs and Custom Stamps
It wouldn’t be Gyropalooza without exclusive releases. Expect limited-edition versions of popular molds from the MVP, Axiom, and Streamline families, each featuring custom stamps that make them must-have collector’s items. The event will likely also showcase molds in special runs of premium plastics that have never been seen before. Some of the ones we expect to see based on hints from MVP throughout the year include
- Proton or Eclipse James Conrad Trail
- Proton Simon Line Time Lapse
- Total Eclipse Tempo
In addition to what MVP has lined up for release, be sure to check out our own custom artwork that we will be debuting on Gyropalooza 2024 releases! This "Intergalactic Vice" stamp features the incredible work of Kelly "Kob" Baber- track down birdies and extraterrestrial would-be evildoers with these discs, available on a few different MVP and Axiom molds.
3. New Mold Releases
Following the debut of the Simon Line Time Lapse and James Conrad Detour in 2023, it's likely that MVP will introduce at least one or two new molds in the Gyropalooza 2024 mystery box, particularly in high-demand categories like distance drivers or putters. MVP has been on a roll with creating discs that fill specific flight needs, so keep an eye out for a mold that could redefine your bag.
Though we haven't heard anything OFFICIAL from them about this, our bold prediction for Gyropalooza 2024 is that there will be a NEW surprise Simon Line mold released inside of or alongside the 2024 Gyropalooza Mystery Box... a new fairway driver, perhaps?
4. MVP Disc Golf Apparel
MVP has been saying for years that they are looking to expand their apparel offerings, and Gyropalooza is the perfect time for them to make an announcement that they are doing so. Based on the growing popularity of their gear, this could be the year they expand their product line to cater to more players' off-course needs, especially after they released new Simon Line polos through their Pro Shop during the MVP Open.
