Shop every Discraft Buzzz SS in one place. This 5/4/-2/1 understable midrange flies like a seasoned Buzzz out of the box, great for hyzer flips and slower arms. Compare Z Line, ESP, glow and Tour Series runs.
The Buzzz SS is the understable version of the Buzzz, Discraft's most popular midrange. SS stands for Super Straight, and Discraft says it flies like a seasoned Buzzz right out of the box. It's an easy straight midrange for newer players and a hyzer flip and turnover tool for everyone else. It's part of our Midrange Disc Collection and the full Discraft Discs Collection, and this hub collects every Buzzz SS we stock in one place.
Understanding the Flight Dynamics & Stability
Every Buzzz SS carries 5 | 4 | -2 | 1. The 5 speed and 4 glide match the regular Buzzz, the -2 turn lets it turn over more on a flat throw, and the 1 fade gives it a soft finish. Discraft rates it 0.0 on their stability scale. It has the Buzzz top with a rounder, smoother bottom rim, and it's 21.6 cm across and 2.1 cm tall with a 1.3 cm rim depth and no bead. It was PDGA approved in February 2008. The plastic changes the feel and how long it keeps that flight.

What this collection brings to your game:
Easy Straight Lines: Slower arm speeds get a long, straight flight without the disc fading out early.
Turnovers and Hyzer Flips: Thrown harder, it holds an anhyzer or flips up flat from a hyzer and keeps going.
Clean Release: The rounder, smoother bottom rim lets it come out of the hand cleanly.
Choose the Right Buzzz SS Plastic
Every Buzzz SS flies 5 | 4 | -2 | 1. Here's how the plastics and runs we carry compare:
Premium and durable
Z Line Buzzz SS - Firm, translucent and the most durable. It keeps its flight the longest.
ESP Buzzz SS - Discraft's grippy, swirly premium plastic. Great grip with good durability, and it seasons a touch faster than Z.
Want more stability? The Discraft Buzzz (5 | 4 | -1 | 1) is the straight, neutral original, and the Discraft Buzzz OS (5 | 4 | 0 | 3) is the overstable version for headwinds and forehands.
How this Category Aligns on the Fairway
Pull the Buzzz SS when a regular Buzzz fades out too early: hyzer flips through the woods, smooth turnovers, anhyzer lines that need to hold and straight shots for slower arm speeds. It's not a wind disc, so keep a regular Buzzz or a Buzzz OS in the bag for windy days. A lot of players carry all three.
Frequently Asked Questions About the Discraft Buzzz SS
What is the difference between a Buzzz and a Buzzz SS?
SS stands for Super Straight. The Buzzz SS (5 | 4 | -2 | 1) has more turn than a regular Buzzz (5 | 4 | -1 | 1), so it flies like a seasoned Buzzz right out of the box. It also has a rounder, smoother bottom rim, so it feels a little different in the hand.
What weight Buzzz SS should I get?
Most Buzzz SS discs we stock are in the 170s. Heavier ones hold up a little better when you throw hard. Lighter ones turn over more easily, which is great for slower arm speeds and hyzer flips. If you're not sure, a mid 170s Buzzz SS is a safe pick.
Is the Buzzz SS good for beginners?
Yes. It's one of the easiest midranges to throw straight. The extra turn keeps slower throws from fading out early, so newer players get a long, straight flight. Experienced players use it for hyzer flips, turnovers and touch shots in the woods.
