Innova Star Corvette 14 | 6 | -1 | 2

When wide-open fairways demand every ounce of power you have, the Innova Star Corvette is ready to answer the call. Serving as the primary premium workhorse in the Innova Corvette Collection, this speed 14 behemoth is a standout in our disc golf distance drivers collection. It pairs the extreme speed of a maximum distance driver with the massive glide and workable turn of a much slower disc. Molded in Innova's legendary Star plastic, it provides the perfect balance of tacky grip and elite durability, making it the go-to bomber for players with the arm speed to unlock its full potential.

Flight Numbers

With an incredibly wide speed 14 rim and a soaring 6 glide, the Corvette eats up fairway yardage in a hurry. When brought up to proper cruising speed, the -1 turn allows for a long, pushing drift to the right (for RHBH throwers) before the dependable 2 fade brings it safely back to center. It is essentially a faster, farther-flying Shryke built for players who want to break their personal distance records.

Speed Glide Turn Fade

The Star Corvette delivers:

  • Massive S-Curve Distance: When thrown with power, it executes a beautiful, long-panning flex flight that maximizes forward carry.
  • Elite Glide: The 6 glide rating keeps the disc suspended in the air significantly longer than traditional overstable distance drivers.
  • All-Weather Grip: The Star plastic provides a confident, tacky feel that won't slip out of your hand on hot, sweaty days or during cold morning rounds.

It excels at:

  • Wide-open fairway bombs where you need maximum distance
  • Long, gliding hyzer-flips that stand up and push straight
  • Massive tailwind drives where the high glide can truly shine

The Star Plastic Advantage

Innova’s Star plastic is the gold standard for touring professionals and dedicated amateurs alike. It offers a highly opaque, premium flight plate that strikes the perfect balance between rigidity and flexibility. Out of the box, Star plastic is incredibly durable and can survive heavy tree kicks without warping. Over months of play, it beats in gracefully to a beautiful sweet spot, allowing the Corvette to show a bit more of its -1 turn and glide even further before fading.

How the Corvette Fits in the Innova Lineup

  • Vs the Innova Halo Star Corvette: The Halo Star version features a stiffer outer rim that inherently adds overstability and torque resistance. The standard Star Corvette is noticeably more workable and will flip up and turn easier for players who want maximum glide right off the shelf.
  • Vs the Innova Champion Corvette: Champion plastic is ultra-stiff and translucent, generally molding up more overstable and slicker than Star. If you want the best possible grip and a flight that beats in beautifully over time, Star is the superior choice.
  • Vs the Innova Shryke: The Corvette is essentially a faster Shryke. While both share a similar flight path (massive glide, slight turn, reliable fade), the Corvette's 14-speed rim requires significantly more arm speed but rewards that power with greater overall distance.

Frequently Asked Questions About the Star Corvette

Is the Star Corvette a good driver for beginners?

No. With a speed rating of 14, this disc features one of the widest rims in disc golf and requires immense arm speed to fly properly. For newer players or those with slower arm speeds, the Corvette will dump out of the air very early, acting like an extreme meat hook. Beginners should start with 7 to 9-speed fairway drivers.

How does the Star Corvette wear in over time?

Star plastic seasons beautifully. While it starts out with a highly dependable fade, after a few months of course wear, your Star Corvette will gradually lose some of its low-speed stability. It will transform into a hyper-glidey, hyzer-flip machine that holds its high-speed turn for massive distance.

Can you throw the Corvette forehand?

Yes, players who prefer a very wide rim often love the Corvette for forehand drives. However, because of the -1 turn and massive glide, you need a smooth, clean release. If you roll your wrist or apply too much off-axis torque, it can turn over.
