Discraft CryZtal FLX Swarm 5 | 3 | 0 | 4

The Swarm (5 | 3 | 0 | 4) does not care how hard the wind is blowing. Built to bridge the gap between an approach disc like the Zone and a fairway driver like the Raptor, it's an aggressive, overstable midrange that fades hard every time. It handles a lot of torque, making it perfect for tight forehand scramble shots, heavy flex lines that need to fight back, or simple stock hyzers where you can't afford to miss right. This page has both Ledgestone CryZtal FLX runs. See every Swarm we stock in the Discraft Swarm Collection Hub or shop our full midrange collection.

Flight Numbers

At 5 | 3 | 0 | 4, the Swarm is one of Discraft's most overstable midranges. The 0 turn means it won't turn over even when you throw it hard or into a headwind, the 3 glide keeps it from floating past your target, and the 4 fade brings it back hard and early every time. It's 21.7 cm across and 1.6 cm tall with a flat top, a 1.3 cm rim width and a 1.2 cm rim depth, and it was PDGA approved on April 22, 2024. That makes it a big, flat midrange that sits well in the hand and snaps out clean on forehands.

The CryZtal FLX Swarm delivers:

  • Wind-Fighting Stability: It holds its line into headwinds and finishes with a hard, dependable fade.
  • Torque Resistance: It handles hard forehands and power throws without turning over.
  • Flat, Comfortable Grip: The flat top and big diameter sit well in the hand for both backhands and forehands.

It excels at:

  • Forehand approaches and scramble shots
  • Headwind upshots and short drives
  • Flex lines that need to fight back
  • Hyzer lines where you can't afford to miss right

Why CryZtal FLX?

CryZtal FLX is famous for being clear and gummy. It gives you great grip in cold or wet conditions and kills the disc's ground play, so it sits right by the basket instead of skipping past it. The 2026 Ledgestone Confetti run takes this blend further by putting confetti flakes right in the plastic, making it a stunner on the course or on the wall. The 2025 Ledgestone discs have the same clear, gummy CryZtal FLX feel without the confetti. Check the run on each option and pick your exact disc right on this page.

How the Swarm Fits in the Discraft Lineup

  • Vs the ESP Swarm: Same mold and flight numbers. Discraft's grippy, durable premium plastic, plus a Super FLX run that's bendier and grips great in the cold.
  • Vs the Big Z Swarm: Same mold and flight numbers. Firm, durable Z Line style plastic with a pearly finish and big stamps. It stays overstable the longest.
  • Vs the Glo Swarm: Same mold and flight numbers. Glo Z and Color Glow plastic that charges up for night rounds.
  • Vs the Jawbreaker Z FLX Swarm: Same mold and flight numbers. Andrew Presnell's Tour Series run in grippy, flexible Jawbreaker Z FLX plastic.
  • Vs the Z Swirl Swarm: Same mold and flight numbers. Andrew Presnell's Tour Series run in grippy Z Swirl plastic with one-of-a-kind swirls.
  • Vs the Discraft Zone: The Zone (4 | 3 | 0 | 3) is the smaller, slower overstable approach disc. The Swarm is a 5-speed with a bigger diameter and more fade, so it handles more power and longer shots. The Zone excels in short upshots around the green.
  • Vs the Discraft Raptor: The Raptor (9 | 4 | 0 | 3) is the overstable fairway driver for when you need the same kind of finish from much farther out. Bag them together for windy rounds.
  • Vs the Innova Gator3: The Gator3 (5 | 2 | 0 | 3) is a classic overstable midrange in the same speed class. The Swarm has a flatter top, a bigger diameter and a harder fade.

Frequently Asked Questions About the Discraft CryZtal FLX Swarm

What's the difference between the 2026 and 2025 Ledgestone CryZtal Swarms?

Both are the same Swarm mold in clear, gummy CryZtal FLX plastic. The 2026 run is CryZtal FLX Confetti, with colorful confetti flakes in the plastic. The 2025 run is plain CryZtal FLX. Check the run on each option.

Is the CryZtal FLX Swarm good for forehands and wind?

Yes, that's what it's built for. The 0 turn and 4 fade mean it won't turn over on hard forehands or into a headwind, and the flat top makes it easy to snap out clean.

How does the Discraft Swarm compare to the Zone?

The Zone (4 | 3 | 0 | 3) is a smaller, slower approach disc. The Swarm is a 5-speed with a bigger diameter and more fade, so it's like a faster, longer Zone that still finishes hard. Grab the Swarm for longer approaches, short drives and stronger headwinds.
