Discraft Swarm
The Complete Discraft Swarm Collection Hub
The Discraft Swarm is one of Discraft's most overstable midranges. It's a flat-topped, beefy 5-speed with a big diameter that fights through flexes and headwinds and finishes with a hard, dependable fade, so it's perfect for forehands, scramble shots and wind. Think of it as a faster, longer Zone that still finishes hard. Understanding the Flight Dynamics
At 5 | 3 | 0 | 4, the Swarm is one of Discraft's most overstable midranges. The 0 turn means it won't turn over even when you throw it hard or into a headwind, the 3 glide keeps it from floating past your target, and the 4 fade brings it back hard and early every time. It's 21.7 cm across and 1.6 cm tall with a flat top, a 1.3 cm rim width and a 1.2 cm rim depth, and it was PDGA approved on April 22, 2024. That makes it a big, flat midrange that sits well in the hand and snaps out clean on forehands.
| Speed | Glide | Turn | Fade |

What the Swarm brings to your bag:
- Wind-Fighting Stability: It holds its line into headwinds and finishes with a hard, dependable fade.
- Torque Resistance: It handles hard forehands and power throws without turning over.
- Flat, Comfortable Grip: The flat top and big diameter sit well in the hand for both backhands and forehands.
Choose the Right Swarm Plastic
Different Swarm plastics change the grip, durability, look and low-light usefulness of the disc. Compare your options:
- ESP Swarm: Discraft's grippy, durable premium plastic, plus a Super FLX run that's bendier and grips great in the cold.
- Big Z Swarm: Firm, durable Z Line style plastic with a pearly finish and big stamps. It stays overstable the longest.
- Glo Swarm: Glo Z and Color Glow plastic that charges up for night rounds.
- CryZtal FLX Swarm: Clear, gummy CryZtal FLX plastic that grips in the cold and kills ground play, including a confetti run.
- Jawbreaker Z FLX Swarm: Andrew Presnell's Tour Series run in grippy, flexible Jawbreaker Z FLX plastic.
- Z Swirl Swarm: Andrew Presnell's Tour Series run in grippy Z Swirl plastic with one-of-a-kind swirls.
How the Swarm Plays on the Course
The Swarm fills the very overstable midrange slot. It's not built to hold a straight line or turn over. No matter how hard you throw it, it comes back and finishes with a strong fade. Reach for it on forehand approaches, headwind upshots, short drives and flex lines that need to fight back. If you want a slower, shorter version for around the green, grab the Discraft Zone. For the same kind of finish from much farther out, step up to the Discraft Raptor.
Frequently Asked Questions About the Discraft Swarm
How does the Discraft Swarm compare to the Zone?
The Zone (4 | 3 | 0 | 3) is a smaller, slower approach disc. The Swarm is a 5-speed with a bigger diameter and more fade, so it's like a faster, longer Zone that still finishes hard. Grab the Swarm for longer approaches, short drives and stronger headwinds.
Which Swarm plastic is the most overstable?
The firm plastics like Big Z and Z Swirl hold their overstability the longest. ESP is a touch softer and grippier, and the glow plastics can fly a little more overstable. The bendy plastics like CryZtal FLX, Super FLX and Jawbreaker Z FLX grip the best and lay down softer.
Is the Swarm good for beginners?
It's a very overstable disc, so newer players will see it fade hard and early. It's still a great utility disc for forehands, wind and must-fade shots, but most beginners should pair it with a straighter midrange.
